Vivienne Hanrahan
Vivienne holds a first-class BSc (Hons) in Midwifery from Trinity College Dublin, and PhD from the University of Galway, Ireland. As recipient of the Health Research Board – Trial Methodology Research Network (Ireland) Scholarship Award, her doctoral studies explored the experiences and perceptions of healthcare professionals recruiting to clinical trials in maternity care using a Behavioural Science approach. In addition to publishing the first Qualitative Evidence Synthesis (QES) Review on HCP recruiters to maternity care trials, her thesis combined methods such as thematic analysis, the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) and co-design, to guide the development of the ENCOUNTER app, which aimed to change the behaviour of healthcare professionals recruiting to clinical trials.
Vivienne’s clinical work included ‘hands-on’ clinical research (clinical trials, longitudinal studies and observational studies) facilitating participant recruitment, informed consent and clinical guideline review and development. Vivienne has experience leading multi-phase projects focusing on primary qualitative research gaining insights from key stakeholders and communicating these effectively to a variety of audiences.
