Lori brings an eclectic background to her position as Scientific Writer at Modus Outcomes.
She began her career as a public health researcher, designing and leading studies on topics such as vaccine hesitancy and health service communication. In addition, she worked with San Diego State University and Rady Children’s hospital to update their vaccine reporting system and parent-doctor communication strategy. She has been a professional writer for seven years; most recently working for Operation Smile International, a global nonprofit that provides surgical care to people living with cleft lip and cleft palate.
Lori has over ten years of experience in academic, corporate, and nonprofit spaces, learning how to effectively communicate complicated concepts to diverse audiences. She draws on her experience as a former technical writer, editor, and policy and program analyst to develop and improve writing systems at Modus Outcomes. Lori holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Biology, with an emphasis on viral structures.
